Rhonda, Team Leader

Rhonda enjoys being out and caring within the community. She likes how as a team leader she has time within the office to answer phones and liaise with social workers as this brings with it new challenges, but likes the hands on approach of being called out at any time to any area to cover sickness. She believes this to be the perfect balance within her job role.

“I enjoy making sure clients get continuity in their care.”

Vicky, Shift Coordinator

Vicky’s career with SRS has progressed from a carer to a team leader to her current position of shift coordinator for Hawick. She ensures every service user is catered for and creates consistency wherever possible creating a great working environment for staff as well as happy service users.

Our Training

All staff complete extensive mandatory training by our in-house qualified trainers and receive regular coaching and guidance throughout their career. Each service users’ program will be specially tailored to match their individual needs to ensure that they are given the care they require to be supported within their home environment while promoting their independence. This will all be documented within their individual care plan which includes information regarding their lifestyle, goals and health.

The training is presented in an engaging and interesting format with a mixture of theory and practical work. The training provides information regarding medication, health and safety and dementia support with a full day dedicated to manual handling. All our training is SSSC compliant with an additional online resource for our staffs continuous learning. Redrock E-learning is available to support our staff’s personal development and learning. This resource is fully CPD accredited and frequently updated to reflect any relevant change in guidelines or legislation. It provides refresher courses as well as being a fundamental stage of the recruitment process ensuring confidence in a range of areas such as fire safety and food hygiene. As well as this, at SRS we carry out monthly supervisions and annual appraisals with all staff and provide various support channels to our staff.
